Who we are
Immigration Inn ("we", "us") is an immigration advice firm at 93 Ford End Road, Bedford MK40 4JT, regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority (Ref F201800051). We are the controller of the personal data described in this notice. You can contact us about your data at info@immigrationinn.co.uk or on 01234 962804.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us: name, phone number, email address and town
- Information about your immigration matter: passports, visas, Home Office letters, family details and travel history
- Financial evidence where your application depends on it, such as payslips, bank statements and accounts
- Special category data where it is relevant to your case, for example health information for a medical or care-based application
- Messages you send through our website forms, by email or by phone
- Basic technical data from your visit to our website, such as pages viewed, set by cookies where you agree to them
Why we use it and our lawful basis
- To give you advice and prepare your application – necessary to perform our contract with you, or to take steps before entering into one
- To meet our regulatory and legal duties – for example keeping client files as the Immigration Advice Authority requires, and anti-money-laundering checks where they apply
- To reply to an enquiry – our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us
- Special category data – used only where it is needed to establish, exercise or defend your legal claims, or with your explicit consent
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.
Who we share it with
- The Home Office and UK Visas and Immigration, when we submit or support your application with your instructions
- Service providers that help us run the business, such as email, secure document storage, our website host and booking or form tools
- The Immigration Advice Authority, if it asks to inspect our files as part of its regulation
- A solicitor or barrister, only if you ask us to refer your case
Some service providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
We keep client files for as long as our regulator and the law require after your matter ends, and then delete or securely destroy them. Website enquiries that do not lead to instructions are deleted once they are no longer needed.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, delete it or restrict how we use it, object to our use of it, and ask us to transfer it to you or another organisation. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email info@immigrationinn.co.uk.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies that are needed for it to work, and, only if you agree, cookies that help us understand how visitors use the site. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings.
How to complain
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
