Who we are

A Bedford immigration practice, regulated since 2018

Immigration Inn has been authorised to give immigration advice since 2018. We are a small, local practice, so you deal with the lawyer handling your case rather than a call centre.

Most of our clients come to us for family matters: bringing a husband or wife to the UK, extending a visa, settling permanently, or becoming British. Many have tried to do it alone first, or have already had a refusal, and want someone to check everything properly before they apply again.

Basharat Hussain, experienced IAA-regulated immigration lawyer

Basharat Hussain is an IAA-regulated immigration lawyer with over 10 years of experience in the immigration sector, and he has run his own immigration business for around 8 years. His background combines law, accountancy and economics, so every case is checked carefully against the rules before anything is sent.

His areas of expertise include spouse and family visas, Indefinite Leave to Remain, British citizenship, work and study visas, visitor visas, business immigration and sponsor licence applications for local employers. With a strong focus on client care, he has earned the trust of many clients by giving clear advice and personal support from first question to final decision.

Why the accountancy background matters

Many immigration applications are decided on money: the £29,000 spouse visa income requirement, self-employed earnings, company director income, savings held for the right period. Basharat reads payslips, bank statements, tax returns and company accounts the way the Home Office will, and spots the gaps before they become a refusal.

How we work

Integrity, respect and knowledge

Our values are Integrity, Respect and Knowledge. In practice, that means five things.

IRK
Our strategy

We tell you straight away if you qualify.

If your application is likely to fail as things stand, we say so and explain what would need to change.

You know the cost first.

Every service has published fixed-fee packages from £150, and we agree the scope of the work in writing before we start.

We check every document before it is sent.

Forms, evidence and dates are checked against the rules and against each other.

We tell you when a matter is outside our level.

If you need a solicitor or barrister, for example for some appeals, we will say so and refer you.

Your information stays confidential.

Your documents and personal details are used only for your application and handled in line with our privacy policy.

Regulation

Regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority

In the UK, anyone giving immigration advice must be regulated. Immigration Inn is authorised by the Immigration Advice Authority (formerly the OISC), set up under the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.

You can check our registration on the regulator's public register. If you are ever unhappy with our service, our complaints procedure explains how to raise it with us and, if needed, with the regulator.

I have been twice to immigration inn. Once for my son’s settlement scheme and later for citizenship application. When other solicitors were unsure and were putting me onhold, he took immediately my case(s). Very fast service, helpful and cheeper than others. I would recommend!
